As a boy Newton preferred inventing things instead of studying. He invented a windmill which was capable of grinding wheat and a clock which harnessed the power of falling water droplets.

He came up with original solutions by asking questions about the world around him.

He is credited with discovering the laws of motion and gravity, the secret of light and color and the development of calculus. In 1668 he invented the reflecting telescope.
